River Adventures Inc Riggins Idaho - Sport Fishing, Jet Boat Tours, Drift Boats, & Whitewater Rafting.
Take
the time. River Adventures has a trip for you! Give us two days, and we'll give
you an experience that you and your family will not forget. We recommend that
you arrive in Riggins the night before your adventure begins. River Adventures
can help with advice on accommodations. On the morning of your trip, you will
drive to our headquarters, where you will meet your guide and pack your drybag.
We will have everything ready for a 9:00 a.m. (MST) departure. You'll be driven
for about an hour, in a comfortable and safe vehicle to the launch site at
Vinegar Creek, on the western edge of the Frank Church Wilderness Area. After a
thorough safety talk and the final rigging of the raft, you'll be on the water.
The first rapid will come within a hundred yards, and you will realize something
very important. You're having a lot of fun, and are really glad that you came.
(And you're just getting started!)
"River
Time" is a vanishing concept in most people's lives today. It means that
whatever time that it is, we're right on schedule. That will be your experience
once you're on the water. You'll float through a canyon so rugged and deep that
Lewis and Clark were turned back nearly two hundred years ago. (They didn't have
our equipment or experience.) You'll run rapids and explore history as you make
you're way down the Salmon River. You'll be on the look-out for wildlife. Deer,
elk, black bear, and bighorn sheep are just some of the locals that can be seen.
And when you're hungry, you'll stop for a wonderful lunch on one of the cleanest
white sand beaches that you've ever seen. By late afternoon you'll arrive at
camp, which will have already been set up by the baggage boatman. At River
Adventures, we're experts at "low impact camping". Camp will be
complete with tents, sleeping bags, thick and comfortable "Paco" pads,
and dining tables and chairs. After a delicious, hot meal prepared by your
guides, and dessert around the campfire, you'll drift off to sleep with the
sounds of the river in your ears. (If you want to stay up late around the fire,
your guides can handle that too. Oh, the many wonders of RIVER TIME!)
The
next morning you'll awaken to a breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, juices, and
plenty of coffee. Just like all of our meals, breakfast will be tasty,
nutritious, and filling. People get a big appetite on the river, and we meet it.
River Adventures is happy to accommodate special dietary needs too. (Just let us
know ahead of time.) After breakfast and your personal gear is stowed away, you
are back on the water. The second day contains most of the whitewater, more
fantastic scenery and fun. Another terrific lunch will be served. You will
arrive at the Lucile Recreation Site take-out. A River Adventures driver will be
there to return you to our headquarters.
Whether you're idea of river fun is challenging the rapids alone in an inflatable kayak, beach volleyball, or simply relaxing in the sun, River Adventures can make it happen. So, give us two days, and we'll give you a trip that you'll talk about for a lifetime!
